Life's Instructions

No one can ruin your day without YOUR permission.
Most people will be about as happy as they decide to be.
Others can stop you temporarily, but only you can do it permanently.
Whatever you are willing to put up with is exactly what you will have.
Success stops when you do.
When your ship comes in...make sure you are willing to unload it.
You will never "have it all together."
Life is a journey...not a destination. Enjoy the trip!
The biggest lie on the planet: "When I get what I want, I will be happy."
The best way to escape your problem is to solve it.
I've learned that ultimately, "takers" lose and "givers" win.
Life's precious moments don't have value unless they are shared.
If you don't start, you certainly won't arrive.
We often fear the thing we want most.
He or she who laughs, lasts.
Yesterday was the deadline for all complaints.
Look for opportunities, not guarantees.
Life is what's coming...not what was.
Success is getting up one more time.
Now is the most interesting time of all.
When things go wrong...don't go with them.

Just wanted to share these gems.

Wise - A strong mind and intuition for all, you
prefer nature to people, it is just has more
sense. By looks, some would call you an earth
childe or hippe, but your connections go much
deeper than those superficial names.

Points to Ponder

"There are two tragedies in life: one is not to get your heart's desire. The other is to get it."--George Bernard Shaw

I recently heard this quote. It struck a chord. Random thoughts about the interpretation of this quote float through my head on a regular basis. What thoughts does it provoke for you?

The definition of insanity: Repeating the same action while expecting different results.

This one kind of fits with my favorite "If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got."

Changes in progress

I've come to find that I have no room. No room left anywhere--not in my house, not in my brain, not in my body. Time to declutter, take stock, and re-focus.
It seems to me, that now is as good of a time as any. I'm facing the beginning of a new fiscal year for my agency coming up July 1. It is a time of wrapping up for a year, a time to evaluate recent past performance and situations, and a step to a "new" start. All of it is work. It takes time and energy (two important resources.)This brings me to the subject of my house.
My house is a wreck. Part of that is due to some changes occuring to the flooring in one of the downstairs rooms. The rest is due to too much stuff crammed into too small of a space. This is changing--slowly--with more plans in the wings. I've decide it's time to get rid of stuff. If it doesn't "fit" or isn't used then it's going to someone or some place that can use it and it does fit. If this isn't possible, then it's being trashed. That's my current mode of attack. More is to come on this subject...

Hmm...so now I'm an angel?

You scored as Angel. Angel: Angels are the guardians of all things, from the smallest ant to the tallest tree. They give inspiration, love, hope, and positive emotion. They live among humans without being seen. They are the good in all things, and if you feel alone, don't fear. They are always watching. Often times they merely stand by, whispering into the ears of those who feel lost. They would love nothing more then to reveal themselves, but in today's society, this would bring havoc and many unneeded questions. Give thanks to all things beautiful, for you are an Angel.

Where does the time go?

It's been awhile since I've checked in here. Life has been busy... and stressful. The biggest thing is that a few weeks ago I was told my dog has cancer. The vet told me I will probably only have him another 2-3 months. It's already been close to a month now. It can't remember what life was like before Casey. He's been with me for almost 11 years. I cannot imagine what life will be like without him. It's tough. I try to treasure every moment with him. In the week he was hospitalized with me not knowing whether he would ever make it home, I realized that there were a lot of little things about him that I had been taking for granted. Not anymore. It used to annoy me that he was constantly everywhere I was in the house and that every time I moved I would trip over him (he's 70 + pounds so not so little). I find myself enjoying his constant presence--even if it's not convenient. I guess the moral of the story is this: Treasure each day with all that it brings. Tomorrow may be too late.
